First day - Distance 16 km

Depart from the Sapa O’Chau Cafe at 9.30am and walk down to Y Linh Ho, a village of the Hmong minority. The hereditary terraces are around 100 years old.

From Y Linh Ho we will make our way to Lao Chai, an established Hmong village where will be welcomed by Mai and her family who run the first and only homestay owned by Hmong in the Sapa region.

 

Second day - Distance 12 km

On the morning of the second day open the window and have a look outside - you will be treated to views across the rice terraces. After breakfast walk to Ta Van where you will visit the Giay minority people. Traditionally the Giay were fishermen who fished with bamboo sticks, and cook their catch inside the bamboo. Now you are more likely to see the Giay working in fields planting or harvesting rice but their villages are still near rivers.
Continue to walk through a bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai, have a scenic picnic lunch, then walk to the main road and catch the private car back to Sapa Town!

Muong hoa valley villages 2 days

Day 1: Sapa - Sa Seng - Hang Da - Hau Thao - Giang Ta Chai (L,D)

The tour will start at Sapa O'Chau cafe 9.30am in the morning, a short drive out of

Sapa town to the walking path.

Follow a small trail, that will take you up the hill for 2 hours to the Den Thang range. Reach the top to enjoy the great view of the Fansipan Peak and the stunning Muong Hoa Valley as the trek approaches Hang Da Village - the home of Hmong which is at 1,800m above sea level and overlooks the Muong Hoa Valley. Discover the village and then have a picnic lunch.

After a short rest we will continue walking to Hau Thao village. You will see the stunning view of Muong Hoa valley. Arrive at Hau Thao Commune, you will have a chance to discover the daily life of the Black Hmong minority and their traditional customs and costume.

Continue trekking to Pho village then down the hill to Giang Ta Chai village where you will sleep in a homestay of Giay people. Your homestay is near the hanging bridge. Have dinner and relax.

 

Day 2: Giang Ta Chai - Ta Van - Lao Chai - Y Linh Ho (B,L)

Enjoy the dawn and fresh air in the village, have a nice breakfast served by the house owner.

Start the trek by climbing the mountain on a small trail near the waterfall. Stop for a while to take photos on top of the waterfall. The trek will lead you through the bamboo forest to Ta Van village of Giay people. Have lunch in a local house near the Muong Hoa river bank.

In the afternoon, you will keep going to Lao Chai village - the home of Black Hmong people. Enjoy the view of the largest rice terrace fields in Sapa.In the afternoon, continue walking to Y Linh Ho village then up the main road and you will return Sapa town by car.

Day 1: Sapa - Tram Ton Pass - Love Waterfall - Silver Waterfall - Cat Cat village (Homestay)

 

The Tour begins at 9.30 am with a car drive to Love Waterfall. On the way you will see the wonderful views of Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range and some plantation of roses and vegetables in the valley.

Our car will stop at Tram Ton Pass which is the highest road in Vietnam at 2047 m above sea level. We will then walk about 1.1 km along the Golden River to visit Love Waterfall.

After returning to Tram Ton Pass, our car will drive you to Silver Waterfall. You have

30 minutes to walk around this area to enjoy the stunning views of the mountains and valley. From here we will start the trek down to the valley towards Sin Chai village - the home of Black Hmong people.

After having a picnic lunch, we will walk to Sin Chai village and continue walking to Cat Cat village where you will sleep in a homestay of Black Hmong people. Dinner will be served by your tour guide and homestay host. Enjoy and have a good rest!


Day 2: Cat Cat - Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai - Ta Van

Wake up early to enjoy the dawn in the village. Have breakfast and start the day with a trek down the the valley to see the hanging bridge, Golden river and Fairy Waterfall.

Next, we trek up the hill and through the rice terrace fields of the Black Hmong villages of Y Linh Ho and Lao Chai. Near the river bank, we take a rest and have a picnic lunch. In the afternoon, we continue walking to Ta Van village of the Giay people. You will have a chance to find out the differences of culture and costumes between the Black Hmong and Giay minorities. Our car will be waiting for you near the hanging bridge and will send you back to Sapa town.

Day 1 - 14 km

We begin Day 1 with a 3km trek to the village of Suoi Ho, home to the Hmong minority people. From here you can enjoy stunning views of rice terraces, and you will have the opportunity to see some of the animals used by the locals.

Continuing on to Matra village you will come across the impressive ruins of a nunnery (or convent), often misconceived to be a monastery, dating back to the French occupation in the early 1900s.

The next stop is the village of Ta Phin where you will be able to meet both Hmong and Red Dao minorities. The Red Dao are known for their expertise in herbal medicine as well as usage of plants from the land to treat many illnesses. Your guide will introduce you to some Red Dao women who can tell you more about their many remedies. You will be welcomed into the home of the Red Dao family, where dinner will be cooked on an open fire. You can soak your body in a herbal bath and sleep soundly enjoying the serenity of
sleeping out in the mountains.

 

Day 2 – 10 km

On Day 2 as the resident rooster will kindly let you know it’s time to get up… and if that doesn’t rouse you, maybe the pigs asking for their food will. After breakfast you will begin your trek to Trung Chai Village, with a choice of routes depending on the weather and your preferences. Trung Chai is home to Red Dao and Hmong minorities, and they have chosen a location with an exceptional landscape! You will be provided with a picnic lunch on route to the village and upon arrival to Trung Chai there will be transport back to Sapa Town.
